Yolanda Ortiz is a strategic and visual communicator with more than 23 years of experience in print, team leadership, and project management.

She is the principal and creative director at YOurMindsDesign, a venture she created over 11 years ago. Yolanda's clients include government, small business, schools, sports leagues, associations, and individuals who need graphics assistance. She has enjoyed creative collaborations with HH Graphics and Ascender Communications, along with pro bono work for the Metro DC Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It is her philosophy that anyone with the desire to simply put their best foot forward should have an affordable and creative means to do so.

Prior to launching her own design studio, Yolanda worked in the corporate sector at IBM Global Business Services where she served as a creative project lead in their Creative Services department, and as a senior graphic designer. She helped oversee the daily workings of the department, managed the project pipeline, and worked alongside the multimedia/video team to produce content for IBM's Center for the Business of Government, partners, and various high profile clients. She was also senior designer with PricewaterhouseCoopers prior to their consulting side acquisition by IBM, got her roots in layout doing copy paste-up at The Richmond Times-Dispatch, and freelanced along the way.

​A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts, Yolanda holds a BFA in Communication Arts and Design (graphic design and illustration concentration), as well as a MA in Art Education from Boston University's College of Fine Arts.
